Ryan Rose / Software engineering

Bespoke software development.

Software built around the way your business works.

I’m Ryan Rose, a software engineer based in Hampshire. I build bespoke applications and internal tools for businesses that need more than another spreadsheet or an off-the-shelf workaround.

01

When custom software makes sense

A bespoke build can be useful when a core process crosses several systems, the same information is entered repeatedly, or existing tools cannot handle your business rules. The starting point is the workflow: who uses it, what they need to decide and where the current process breaks down.

Sometimes the right answer is to configure an existing product or connect tools you already own. I help define the smallest useful implementation before committing to a larger application.

02

What I can build

Internal applications, customer operations tools, reporting systems and workflow software. Work can include the user-facing interface, backend business logic, database design and integrations with existing services.

My skillset includes Python, C++, Java, C#, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript and SQL. The stack is chosen around your existing systems, performance needs and the team that will maintain the software.

03

From requirements to a working system

We map users, data and acceptance criteria, then agree a focused first release. Implementation includes review points so the people using the software can test it against real tasks.

The handover can include source code, setup instructions, technical documentation and a walkthrough. Access, ongoing support and deployment responsibilities are agreed as part of the scope.

Before we start.

Can you improve an existing application?

Yes. We can begin by reviewing the current application, its code and the changes needed, then agree whether to extend it, integrate it or replace a specific part.

How much does bespoke software cost?

The cost depends on scope, integrations, data and deployment requirements. A discovery conversation identifies the initial work needed before a proposal is prepared.

Talk through your project.

Bring the process, system or idea you want to improve. We’ll discuss requirements, constraints and whether a focused first build makes sense.
